How to Draw Anything Digital Book for Sale

Portent Pinups and Guest Art

I was asked by Magnus to make a pinup of the main character for the webcomic´s launch and later to make some filler art and character design for some of the villains, the Monkey Masterminds. I had a neat time working on those, evil genius monkeys are enticing.

How to Draw...

I`ve released two "How To Draw" mini books, one focusing on cartoons and the other in more action oriented comic characters like Heroes, Mutants and Princesses.

I´m already working on the next, which will be a "How to Draw Monsters" book. 

These minibooks are usually a favorite at the cons and are pretty fun to work on.

Hero Academy - The Final Battle?

Sad news this time. Our dear friend, Aisaku, passed away recently. You might know him as Isaac Arroyo, the artist on Hero Academy in charge of the Friday pages. He will be dearly missed.

We talked with Ben (HA´s writer) and decided that the best would be to go into a Hiatus with the webcomic until we get our act together again, so I took charge of the last HA pages of the arc. We were pretty close to the end of an epic battle, so I´ll post some of the pages here for you to see.

More Hero Academy - Saqqar

Saqqar is the current storyline we´re doing on Hero Academy and it´s having some interesting visuals we´ve had to portray. Being a continent based on Africa, we´ve had our fun with some new scenery and history, not to mention character designs.
There was also some neat experimentation when it came to expressing tense moods and suspense since our new addition to the cast has some heavy backstory that the others don´t approve of.
We´re trying to improve at storytelling, so feel free to let us know your thoughts on the comments section of the comic!

Redemption

Before I got back to drawing Hero Academy (I had 2 runs so far) I did this comic as a present for two friends.




Based on an old story one of them wrote, I developed the looks and the layouts for all of the three pages, ending up in what would end up being the style I´d use for my second run on HA.

The Hero Academy Webcomic

One of my weekly assignments is the tuesday page of Hero Academy, a webcomic scripted by Ben Carver and drawn by Aisaku and yours truly.

I´ve been at this for more than two years by now, starting as a fill in artist when original artist Ivan had some urgent matters to attend.

My first pages were all done in pencil, in a small A6 sheet of paper (1/4 of an A4) and added tones and lettering with the PC.

A scanner malfunction forced my hand into the digital realms, so I have to thank this comic for helping blossom my tablet skills.


Getting used to deadlines, updates, scripts, layouts and character and background designs was a HUGE boost in experience as well, and I can´t thank Ben enough for that.
